Overnight Accommodations See our website for nearby hotels.  Also, we have some space on the grounds for tent camping on a first come first serve basis.
Pool Will be open to all racers and their families for relaxation and enjoyment.  Poolside music provided by David Teague.
Concessions Hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, etc. will be sold on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.  Also, as adult beverage “Tiki” Bar will be open in the afternoon.
Barbecue The club will have a barbecue dinner starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday.  Cost is $8.00 per plate.
Dance Dance in the clubhouse to the music of Permanent Vacation 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

NOTICE OF RACE

7 and 8 June 2008

Organizing Authority: HYC

 

1. RULES:

This regatta will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

 

2. ALTERATIONS OF THE RACING RULES:

The Sailing Instructions will specifically identify alterations to the racing rules.

 

3. ELIGIBILITY:

With the exception of the Optimist Class, the regatta is open to registered Sailboats of all classes 24 feet in L.O.A. or less and the E-Scow class.  There will be no youth course for this event.  HYC will host a youth only event on 9 August 2008

 

4. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Five races are scheduled for this two day event.

6 June - 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Registration in the HYC clubhouse.

7 June - 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Registration

11:00 AM Skippers Meeting

12:30 PM First Race Flag

Next race to start as soon as possible after first previous race completion.  The RC may start any class as soon as that class has finished the previous race.

8 June -12:00 PM Next Race Warning Flag

Next race to start as soon as possible after first previous race completion

No races will be started after 3:00 PM on Sunday.

Award ceremony immediately after Protest hearings on Sunday

 

5. CLASSES:

All one-design classes (with the exception of the Optimist) having four or more boats may participate as a class. Other classes with less than 4 boats may race but may not receive a trophy for their efforts.  Since there is no youth course for this event, HYC encourages all adult sailors to sail with young sailors onboard to help them in gaining experience.

 

6. FEES:

US Sailing Member with US Sailing membership card. $20.00 Non-member $25.00.  Single handed classes fees will be US Sailing Member with US Sailing membership card. $15.00 Non-member $20.00.

 

7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:

Available at registration in the HYC clubhouse.

 

8. COURSES:

Diagrammed in the Sailing Instructions. HYC will be using the old style around the buoys type of course for this pre-50th celebration. Start/Finish lines will be near the HYC waterfront so that all of our guest will be able to watch all the action from the shade of the Oaks around the pool.

 

9. SCORING:

The series will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the racing rules using the Low Point System with the exception that there will be no throw outs. All races will count in the scoring. One race completed will be considered a regatta. The Optimist class will also have an overall winner.

 

10. PRIZES:

The number of boats entered in each class will determine the number of trophies.
